Acts 1:8 Strategy

We participate in the mission of God to reach the nations for Christ by following the model provided in Acts 1:8:

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem (local), in all Judea and Samaria (regional), and to the ends of the earth (global).

LOCAL

We try to reach our local community with the gospel in a number of ways.

1.Intentional Evangelism

We have several outreach events each year where our church meets our neighbors and shares the gospel with them, including events with our schools and neighborhood block parties.

2.Missional Living

We teach our members that we are missionaries all the time, no matter where we are. Therefore, we always look to live out the gospel and share Jesus with the people we come into contact with.

3.Evangelism by Hospitality

Hospitality is a way to be intentional about sharing the gospel with your neighbors.  Inviting someone into your home, demonstrating love and friendship, and explaining the gospel over the course of the friendship in a natural way, is a very effective way to fulfill the Great Commission.

4.Evangelism by Serving

We look for tangible ways to love and serve our city. Whether it is participating in PTA meetings, helping out with community 5Ks, or serving in a local nursing home, we believe that we can demonstrate and share the gospel with people as we serve them.

REGIONAL

We support the North American Mission Board through our Cooperative Program giving and the annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering and we partner with other Southern Baptist churches to reach the lost and plant new churches in our region of the world.

GLOBAL

We support the International Mission Board through our Cooperative Program giving and the annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. The IMB has 5,000+ missionaries around the world.

In addition to supporting global missions through the IMB, we also take mission trips every year to Guatemala and other places.
